2. Acceptance of These Terms
By using our website, contacting us, requesting a quotation, booking an appointment or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or engage our services.
3. Our Services
Elect Techno provides electrical services to residential, commercial and other customers as agreed with the customer.
The exact scope of work will depend on the requirements discussed with you and the quotation or agreement provided for the relevant work.
We reserve the right to decline a service request where it is not reasonably possible, safe or appropriate for us to undertake the requested work.
4. Quotations and Estimates
Where applicable, we may provide a quotation or estimate before work begins.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation is based on the information and circumstances known to us at the time it is prepared.
If additional work is discovered to be necessary after work has started, we may contact you to discuss the additional work and any additional charges before proceeding, where reasonably practicable.
A quotation may become invalid if the scope of work, site conditions or customer requirements change materially.
5. Booking and Appointments
Appointments are arranged subject to availability.
We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time. However, circumstances outside our reasonable control, including emergencies, traffic, equipment problems, adverse conditions or delays on previous jobs, may affect appointment times.
Customers should provide reasonable access to the property or work area at the agreed appointment time.
6. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the property and requested work
- Providing safe and reasonable access to the areas where work is required
- Informing us of known hazards or relevant property conditions
- Obtaining any permissions or consents that are the customer’s responsibility
- Ensuring that the work area is reasonably accessible and free from unnecessary obstructions
- Making payments when they become due
7. Electrical Safety
Electrical work can involve inherent risks. We will carry out agreed work with reasonable care and in accordance with applicable requirements and standards relevant to the work being undertaken.
We may refuse or stop work where we reasonably believe that continuing would create an unacceptable safety risk.
If existing wiring, equipment or installations are unsafe, defective or unsuitable, we may recommend remedial work before or during the requested service.
8. Existing Electrical Installations
We are not responsible for defects, faults or problems that existed before we began work unless such issues are specifically included within the agreed scope of work.
Where existing installations are found to be defective or non-compliant, we may advise you of the issue and recommend appropriate action.
9. Additional Work
If additional work is required that was not included in the original quotation or agreement, we will, where reasonably practicable, explain the additional work and any associated cost before carrying it out.
In urgent situations where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people or property, work may need to be undertaken before prior approval can be obtained.
10. Materials and Equipment
Where materials or equipment are supplied by us, we will use reasonable care in selecting materials suitable for the agreed work.
Where a customer supplies materials or equipment, we are not responsible for defects, incompatibility, poor quality or failure resulting from those customer-supplied items.
11. Payment
Payment terms will be communicated to you before or during the provision of the relevant service.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due when the work has been completed and the invoice has been issued.
We reserve the right to suspend or decline further work where outstanding invoices remain unpaid.
12. Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Where an appointment is cancelled at short notice or a technician is unable to access the agreed work location after attending, we may charge reasonable costs where applicable and where permitted by law.
13. Completion of Work
Work will be considered completed when the agreed scope of work has been carried out, subject to any outstanding items that have been agreed with the customer.
You should notify us promptly if you believe that any aspect of the completed work does not meet the agreed requirements.
14. Workmanship and Defects
We aim to provide services to a reasonable standard and with reasonable care and skill.
If you believe there is a defect in workmanship, please contact us promptly with details of the issue so that we can investigate.
Where a valid workmanship issue is identified, we will consider appropriate remedial action in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the work.
15. Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Subject to the above, we will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or for defects arising from existing installations, customer-supplied materials, misuse, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow reasonable instructions.
16. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, natural events, accidents, shortages of materials, transport disruption, utility failures, government restrictions, emergencies or other events that could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented.
